when I’m older (not way older, but you know, as my first car.)(oh and money isn’t really a big deal.) and I wanted to fix it up with safety features, how much would it cost?

say it was a chevelle or mustang.
i know i would put abs breaks on it (if there weren’t any).
frontal and side airbags.
probably fix the front and side and make them more durable.
probably do some fancy stuff with the engine.
and any other safety things i’d need to put on.
safety first. safe cars are very important to me so i’d do anything to make it as safe as possible.

You could put the abs on it. All the airbags and stuff like that you wouldn’t really be able to do. Really if your wanting a safe car a muscle car isn’t the best bet.

who needs airbags when you got a 2 ton rolling fortress

ABS and air bags have to be built in from the factory. Besides, you only need ABS if you drive in poor conditions. A hobby car like this will NOT be your daily drive car anyway. It will be a hobby car you only take out in good weather.
As for air bags they came out because too many people do not wear their seat belts. If you wear your seat beld and shoulder harness all the time, air bags are moot.

You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com
